Site Description

This is the richest and most extensive mangrove area on the Birdshead (Kepala Burung). The proposed reserve would stretch inland from the coast and include various lowland habitat types.
Mangrove forest : 9,760 ha.
Peatswamp : 75,640 ha.
Wet lowland forest on alluvium : 36,600 ha.
Principal vegetation: Mangrove and peatswamp forest. |
