Description:
A bay formed through the action of sea currents upon rapid deltaic accretion of the two flanking rivers on a dynamic coast-line. The rivers are the S. Somal on the west and S. Kobi on the east. Wetland and swamp forest lies along the rivers, and mangroves in the bay may be developing rapidly. The area inland of the bay has been developed for transmigration, the nearest site being SKP B, SP A (or UPT E, to be named Samal), which was settled with 309 transmigrant families during 1985-88. The total population of Pasahari transmigration settlement is 3555 families. |
