Site Description

Lake Buyan is a confined lake surrounded by rain forests, small scale agriculture and quite recent vacation housing. There are some fishing activities at the lake. its strtification was weak. The lake is considered as oligothrophic lake. The total nitrogen concentrations were from 0.24-1.06 mg/l N and total phosphorus concentrations from undectable to 0.004 mg/l P. The carbon dioxide concentration were from 3.3-6.6 mg/l. Chlorophyl a concentration were 2.32-5.08 mg/m3, and transparency 2.3-3.1 metres. The maximum depth of the lake is 30 m. |
