Site Description

Two excellent and extensive areas of mangrove forests, important as fish and prawn breeding grounds. The mangrove forest covers a total of 90,000 ha and is backed by about 40,000 ha of frashwater swamp.
Principal vegetation: Mangrove forest.
However, large part of mangrove forest seems to have been converted to fish ponds (tambak). |
