  Site Description
Kobroor is the least populated and least disturbed island in the Aru Archipelago. It has a wide range of habitats, including mangroves, swamp forest and lowland decidous tropical forest. The western part of the island is a karts area. The eastern part is generally flat with a few undulating hills. There are few permanent rivers, having a tidal influence up to far inland . There are many deep wells, in which the water level rises and falls with the tides. They provide abundant freshwater all year round. Kobroor is almost entirely fringed by mangroves. A few patches of seasonal swamp occur in the coastal region. Principal vegetation: Sonneratia, Bruguiera, Avicennia and Nypa fruticans.
  Site Location
Pulau Kobror is located on kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. The central island of the Aru Archipelago, about 120km of the south coast of Irian Jaya.
