Site Description
| |
A coastal mountain area surrounded by relatively flat land (in particular a foothill near the Paloh coast). The vegetation consists of mountane forest and along the coast some mangrove swamp forest (see: Paloh). The hill forest is important for hydrological protection. The forest is in a good condition and the diversity of flora and fauna is high. The lowlying swampy areas are especially important for the endemic Proboscis Monkey.
