Site Description

| |
A flat coastal area (90% flat) with 40% grassland and shrub land; 50% swamp. 10% is hilly with Gunung Tunggal as the highest peak. The swamps consist of mangrove (4,000 ha) and freshwater swamp (20,000 ha) including swampy grasslands and swamp forest. The beaches are nesting sites for turtles.
Principal vegetation:
Mangroves: Sonneratia. Grasslands and
swamp forest: Melaleuca sp., Shorea balangeran, Gluta renghas, Dyera sp., Campnosperma macrophylla, Oncosperma tiggilarium. |
