Site Description

The major part of the coast of South Kalimantan province is covered with mangrove forest. Little information is available on richness of fauna and flora. Major parts have already been reclaimed. The original area covered by are Pamukan and Kelumpang Bay which are extensive and nearly untouched areas. Some other areas which are also considered of conservation importance but with lower priority are: Pulau Kaget, Pulau Kembang, Tanjung Dewa Barat, Pulau Sebuku.
Principal vegetation: Avicennia, Rhizophora, Sonneratia, Bruguiera. |
