Site Description |

A low plateau on uplifted marine limestone. Most drainage is underground with few emphemeral surface streams. But local depressions are poorly drained, seasonally flooded, sometimes with peat lying directly on limestone bedrock. Principal vegetation: Primary forest, partly logged.

Fauna: Holmes (in Holmes and Burton 1987), has identified this limestone plateau as having special ecological interest, with a propoderance of sub-montane bird species at this coastal lowland site. |
